Shy Glizzy ‘Fully Loaded’ Project

Published

on

After a 2017 that saw him drop two projects, Shy Glizzy has been mostly quiet in 2018. That changes on Friday (Oct. 12) with the release of his new Fully Loaded project.

The Washington D.C. MC returns with a bang, proving a robust offering of 19 new tracks. Glizzy employs a who’s who of big names and bubbling newcomers in Young Thug, Lil Uzi Vert, Rick Ross, YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Smokepurpp, Q Da Fool, Lil Durk, Quando Rondo and more.

The Quiet Storm rapper licked off a warning shot with the single “Do You Understand?” featuring Tory Lanez and Gunna back in June and followed up with the video in August.

Glizzy opened the year by being nominated for a Grammy for his part in GoldLink’s “Crew.” Despite not winning, he has the hunger for more. “I set high standards, but that’s the only way I can go up and up, if I set bigger standards for myself than what everybody else see,”  he told Motion XI. “Just achieving goals and getting these bags, getting this money, you know. That’s what it’s all about.”

D33J And Lil Yacthy Connect On "Out Of Sight"
D33J has recently dropped his highly anticipated  INFINITY 33 mixtape. The project is full of impressive collaborations, including this emotive single, “Out Of Sight,” featuring Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty.

Speaking to Pigeons and Planes, D33J revealed, “My music is always quite emotional, but it’s not conveyed in these clear-cut narratives. There are not all these lyrics guiding you, and even when I do sing, a lot of the times the vocals are more like guttural, impulsive first take things that get looped and processed.” The aforementioned is evident in the Lil Yachty assisted song which sees the two musicians exploring the theme of lost love.

Quotable Lyrics

Where have you been, where have you been
Not in my life lately
Where have you been, out of sight
Where have you been, where have you been
Not in my life lately
Where have you been, you’ve been out of sight

Jaden Smith Advises Fans To "Play This On A Mountain At Sunset"
Jaden Smith recently dropped off a new project titled The Sunset Tapes: A Cool Tape Story exactly one year after his debut album SYRE. The new music is a part of his Cool Tape series through which Jaden first explored his early hip-hop artistry.

The Cool Tape Story is 11 tracks long, with various titles alluding to his past releases such as “FALLEN Part 2” and “SYRE In Abbey Road.”

“Play This On A Mountain At Sunset” is arguably the perfect accompaniment to a moment of reflection or philosophizing. Speaking to Nylon, Jaden revealed, I’m a learning philosopher, you know? So I get to learn new things every day…For me, personally, I am growing to have a well-rounded education on everything, because you’re never gonna know everything. So I feel like yes, I am a modern-day philosopher in training.”

City Girls Have No Time For A "Broke Boy"
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Yung Miami of the City Girls shared some advice that she received from her mother at a young age. “My mom always told me ‘Don’t talk to a man who can’t do nothing for you. If you talkin’ to a man, make him do something for you.” She went on to further cement the importance of ambition and hustle in a potential partner saying, ” I don’t wanna talk to a broke boy. Period.”

In this single from their album Girl Code, the City Girls deliver a lively, horn-infused hype anthem. The song is further complemented by the duo’s witty lyrics.

Quotable Lyrics

If you a broke boy, stay the f*ck out my way
These n***s be lyin’ on they d*ck with a f*ckin’ straight face
Boy, I am not your b*tch, so what the f*ck is you sayin’?
You just a n**** lyin’ on your d*ck with a f*ckin’ straight face
