UFC’s Dustin Poirier Says He Won’t Fight Unless It’s McGregor Or Tony Ferguson

“This company is #1 bullshit.”

When it comes to Dustin Poirier’s next UFC fight, it’ll be against Tony Ferguson, Conor McGregor or nobody at all. At least, that’s the message Poirier relayed in a series of tweets early Wednesday morning.

Poirier, who currently ranks third in the super talented lightweight division, says the UFC will need to redo his contract if they want him to fight anyone but the two fighters who are ranked ahead of him. Furthermore, he added, “This company is #1 bullshit.”

The 30-year old fighter boasts an overall record of 24-5 (16-4 UFC), including five straight victories and an 8-1 (1NC) mark since moving up to the lightweight division. His last three fights, which came against Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje and Eddie Alvarez, all ended in TKO victories.

When asked about a potential fight against the fourth ranked lightweight, Al Iaquinta, Poirier reiterated his ‘Tony, McGregor, or nobody’ stance.

For what it’s worth, UFC President Dana White previously hinted at a Poirier-McGregor match once the Irish superstar’s suspension was officially announced. Now that the NSAC has ruled that McGregor will be eligible to fight again starting April 6, the UFC can begin the process of making that fight a reality. The two first met in a featherweight fight at UFC 178 in 2014 with McGregor winning by first-round TKO.

White has also flirted with the idea of Khabib Nurmagomedov defending his title against Ferguson, with the winner squaring off against either McGregor or Poirier for the Lightweight championship.
